So what sets us apart from all the other dance teacher organisations around?
When we set up MoreThanMoves we did so with the intention to bring a fresh outlook to dance. We want to show people that anyone can dance. The comments of “I have two left feet” and “I have no rhythm” are common ones we hear. As a result of hearing these comments we have been able to tailor our teaching style to address such comments quickly and effectively.
We spend a lot of time and energy in travelling the globe to gain experience and the depth of knowledge which we can then bring back to these shores to help you. The combined benefit of competitive success in the hotbed of our dance styles together with the wealth of information gained means we can keep up to date with changes in order to give you the most up to date advice.
To us the most important part of learning to dance is that it should be relaxed and fun. It is common that being able to relax when learning new material really helps to let it sink in. Most people approach dance as a past-time rather than a profession and, as such, want to enjoy it. Don’t get us wrong, we are not stand-up comedians (although after a few drinks in the local pub we like to think we are) but we do like to keep a light-hearted environment.
As mentioned above we teach dancing for the enjoyment of seeing people dance. As dance teachers there is nothing better than to see someone who has never danced before getting up dancing or seeing one of our friends we have taught doing well in competitions. It is a great feeling. Unfortunately, as with many things, this does cost money. It is our view that learning to dance should not be a massive cash outlay. We offer professional teaching at minimal cost. We are not in it to be rich.
When you have finished a class or workshop with us our involvement does not stop there. If you have access to the internet, which if you are reading this probably means you do, you can follow up on your classes through our website. After registering with us we issue you with a special code at whichever class or workshop you attend which will then allow you to ask us questions, chat to fellow participants and get a summary of what was taught. Through experience we have found that it is all too easy to forget all you have learned after walking out of the door. This way we are on hand to ensure you have all of the help you need.
Taking lessons with a teacher only to find that you cannot contact them outside of a class for advice and help can be infuriating. With many companies, not just dance, it is common to find that people simply dont respond to emails or messages. It can be very annoying. Part of the MoreThanMoves approach is that we will always try and respond to emails and messages within 24 hours. Of course if we are sunning ourselves on Brighton beach this may not be possible but, if thats the case, we will always let you know. |
